Our Story

We are Adam, Sally and Jessica.

We lived in central Bristol, we had busy lives and we enjoyed the city but were craving nature, and space, that age old wanting of something more fulfilling.

Adam has been exploring Buddhism and meditation for many years, which lead to a discovery of various shamanic practises which has recently deepened. He loves to help people.

Sally has a deep love of yoga and a newfound meditation practise and loves to host.

Jessica aspires to teach childrens meditation one day - which would be amazing!

Our hope for the move for us, was to enjoy nature, gradually becoming more self-sufficient and to be together more. This is already happening and little by little we are easing into a slower pace of life.

The dream of opening a retreat centre had been brewing, then suddenly we were doing it.

We officially started looking in August 2019 and within a month we had sold our house and had an offer accepted on a farmhouse with 2 acres in Herefordshire.

Our dream for Growan is for it to be a space to help people enjoy personal growth and enjoy being outside in nature. We will be growing the space organically, starting with simple facilities and a campsite vibe.

We will host retreats centred around spending time outside, with shamanic practises such as sweat lodges and various ceremonies featuring often but also womens and mens weekends, cycling, foraging and cooking on fire mixed in.

Our space is humble, there is a campsite and covered barn area and we are building the essential facilities in time for next summer and we are surrounded by really beautiful countryside. Step outside of our land and you will meet a river to swim in, woods to explore and hills with awe inspiring views to climb. The sun rises in front of our village and behind our field.
